John Pilger Gets it Wrong
On 24th August the New Statesman published an article by John Pilger on the Israeli boycott movement, including the suggestion that "These initiatives have been backed by a British group, Independent Jewish Voices, whose 528 signatories include Stephen Fry, Harold Pinter, Mike Leigh and Eric Hobsbawm."

Sorry John but you've got it wrong. The IJV declaration has nothing to say on the boycott and the 541 signatories did not sign up to express any opinion on that issue. We have no idea what the four people listed think about the subject. The fact is that IJV takes no position on the boycott, and we know that our signatories include those who support it and those who oppose it. Accuse us of sitting on the fence if you like but please don't claim we hold a position that we don't.
The New Statesman published our correction as a letter 2 weeks later.
